Jill Hacking | Fine Art Paintings
Oil Paintings
Watercolor Paintings
Gouache Paintings
As a New Hampshire artist from the Lake Sunapee area, my approach is mainly representational. The impression of light and color in the landscape is what drives my inspiration to paint. I enjoy painting timeless landscapes of area lakes, lighthouses, New Hampshire mountains, barns, farms and fields, and especially the “iconic scenes” around Lake Sunapee, my summer home since childhood.
In my retirement, I enjoy painting using various media, mainly oils and gouache (a form of opaque watercolor), and also transparent watercolors, experimenting with different mediums for my landscapes. I studied fine arts in college and have in more recent years studied with several local artists.
In the summer, my paintings are on display at the Center for the Arts “Naturally New England” show at The Livery in Sunapee Harbor. I have also exhibited at the Center for the Arts in New London, NH, The Library Arts Center in Newport, NH, and at New London Hospital.
