Ruth Ann Hacking is a community herbalist and organic farmer at the heart of Half Wild Arts. She is passionate about sustainable systems, traditional skills, and building a better future for everyone.
“I grew up in the woods of New Hampshire, but it wasn’t until the years that I spent working at a tech company in New York City and traveling the world as a World Cup fencer that I started living more sustainably and dreaming of farming. I eventually returned to New England to train as an organic farmer and then spent a number of years managing farms in Vermont and Massachusetts before starting my own farm here in North Haverhill, NH, where I grow using ‘half wild’ hand powered permaculture methods.
“With the local food movement expanding every day, I encourage everyone to take the next step into local skin care and an even more sustainable lifestyle.”
